Experts say that policymakers do not currently account for the impact plastics currently have on climate change and that the issue is flying under the radar.

“In short, reported emissions from oil, natural gas, and chemical infrastructure have increased in recent years, and new infrastructure that is still in the pipeline has the potential to increase emissions even more.”

Coca-Cola has increased their use of single-use plastic bottles over the last decade.
