It is not fair to expect oppressed people to answer violence with nonviolence, but it’s what actually works far more often.

“Am I pleased that the 12 children and their coach in Thailand were rescued? Of course I am. I just wish that an equivalent effort was being made to rescue each of the 50,000 children we will kill today, tomorrow, the next day and the day after that….”

The simple reality is that violence will only end when each one of us is committed to ending it. Are you?

To love yourself truly, you must always courageously act out your own self-will, whatever the consequences.

“The greatest purveyor of violence in the world: My own government, I cannot be silent.”

I'm certain there is a way we can meaningfully unite, and not in a war against The Other overseas or south of the border.

Attempts to fix this have been made from time to time, but never garnered enough votes to mount a successful fix to this fundamental flaw.

Your vote for anyone who can help slow, stop, and reverse this decline in decency and erosion of democracy was never more important than right now. 

I am sure that we could solve worldwide issues of poverty, climate change, and health. Our efforts involving happiness should be made with respect to all peoples everywhere.
