In Australia, with 50 Strikes planned, there are business, universities, churches, and even a few banks supporting them. Unfortunately, we aren’t seeing such unity in the U.S.

Despite President Obama’s urgent warnings in Alaska that climate change could “condemn our children to a planet beyond their capacity to repair,” he seems to have curbed his climate ambition.

Trump, Barr, and McConnell do their business as if the Constitution doesn’t even exist. They have no problem subverting the Rule of Law, it is no more than a hindrance to them. These three are, in fact, autocrats.

On display: full combat between the forces of ignorance, bigotry, deception and propaganda vs. knowledge, understanding, wisdom and besieged aspirations of justice and equality.

That will require the United States to seriously reduce the military budget and commit to peaceful, practical diplomacy with China and Russia.

Is a vague organizational affiliation more important in determining whether a killing is terrorism or is the character of the target more important?

All predatory systems of power seek to mask their ultimate aims. As they become more repressive, they become more deceptive. They silence dissidents and bombard the airwaves with lies. Those who effectively resist have to peel back the layers of deceit to understand the intentions of the elites.
