Trump is in the White House, but the takeaway from voters in this election is a mandate for progressive economic populism and more diversity among public officials.

Trump must be opposed, just as Ryan, McConnell, and Vice President Mike Pence must be opposed. But so must the system that gave them power.

Many Hillary supporters don’t want Bernie to keep campaigning, and many Bernie supporters don’t want to root for Hillary if she gets the nomination.

By imposing them, Trump has in effect raised taxes on most Americans by about $800 per household. China’s retaliatory tariffs will raise taxes further.

Both men would be disasters for America, but Ted Cruz would be the larger disaster.

The U.S. diplomatic presence in the eastern reaches of the Middle East is in question as the security for such embassies and consulates is the host countries' responsibility. But when the state has failed, we must ask: Is U.S. diplomacy even possible in much of the region?

Americans deluded by capitalist promises need to learn about progressive policies that would truly help them.

The biggest loser would be the internet itself, which would be made to surrender its determinedly democratic ethic to the plutocratic rule of corporate profiteers.
