There are an estimated 80,000-100,000 prisoners held in some form of solitary confinement in the United States. The United Nations says the practice often amounts to torture. It is cruel and unusual punishment, and must be abolished, once and for all.

The Hawaii legislature just passed a goal to go 100 percent renewable energy throughout the state by 2045. The new solar installations are making even developing countries ambitious enough to go green.

Never in U.S. history has the prospect of a president's real and potential business dealings created such a marked array of conflicts.

Why have command over armed forces and federal marshals, tear gas and booming helicopters, if not to quell mass insurgency?

The party’s “rigged” addiction to sabotaging a legitimate election is itself “stealing” away its own leverage.

The Republican rejection of reality — which these candidates will act out in debate after debate for months to come — inflicts grave costs on this country every day. It is hard to imagine the damage that will be done if one of these deceivers comes to power.

If Kris Kobach and his Republican allies get their hands on the data and succeed in suppressing the vote, then Trump may well be on his way to a landslide victory in 2020.
