The Democratic Party has not been taking seriously many of the reasons for Trump’s support and the range of that support. And the media has not been discussing many of the reasons for Trump’s support. That needs to change.

Austrians just elected a crusty 72-year-old leftist as their country's president in a surprise result that saw both their major mainstream party's candidates crushed. Could a crusty 74-year-old leftist named Bernie Sanders pull off the same feat here in the US, running as a Green candidate if Hillary Clinton gets the Democratic nomination?

Is Putin the face of the future or the final gasp of the past?

Bernie’s successes don’t help Trump. To the contrary, they are bringing into politics millions of young voters whose values are opposite to those of Trump’s.

Trump articulates ideas that are closer to what is considered “normal” in the United States than many of us are willing to acknowledge.

To date, Sanders’ criticism of Clinton on this point is inferential, not specific.

As party members meet to approve a new platform, they pay little attention to the industry that's destroying government and politics.

“We will have to do this together. No one will do it for us. And as the numbers in the streets swell the corruption of our political system becomes ever more apparent.”

There’s already more than enough evidence of probable cause to begin that impeachment inquiry of Donald Trump.

Voters are embracing new ideas and new goals, and smart politicians are helping advance the process.
